The "Ghostbusters 3" rumor mill continues: Yesterday, we posted video of Dan Aykroyd claiming that Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen were working on a script for another "Ghostbusters" movie which would presumably have nothing to do with the original cast.

Yet today, Variety reports that Sony/Columbia are being mum on details but that Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (TV's "The Office") have been hired to write a script that would reunite the original Ghostbusters - Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson - for one more movie. Eisenberg and Stupnitsky recently wrote the script for "Year One," a comedy produced by Judd Apatow and directed by Harold Ramis. Ramis and Aykroyd wrote the story and screenplay for the first two Ghostbusters films.

"Ghostbusters 3" was in development hell all throughout the '90s until it was deemed impossible make due to the stars' demands for a high percentage of the gross. Aykroyd has stated over the years that a script was written but never saw the light of day. He and Ramis used elements of the story for the upcoming "Ghostbusters" video game due out next month on the XBOX 360, PS3, PS2, and Nintendo Wii. Aykroyd has also hinted that his unused script could be used for a CGI-animated film.

Hopefully you've seen "The Dark Knight" by now and if you haven't, well, sorry for ruining things for you.

But in a chat with CHUD (http://www.chud.com), Aaron Eckhart confirmed that despite Internet chatter and debate, the question as to whether or not Two Face survived at the end of "The Dark Knight" can be put to rest.

"I asked Chris if there was a chance of coming back. 'No way,' he said. 'He's toast.'"

Chris Nolan has yet to announce whether he will do a third "Batman" film and if he does so, which villains he'd want to appear.

Now that the Harry Potter franchise is gone and done with (in terms of novels), the "Twilight" book series is now on the tips of a lot of young teens' tongues.

The "Twilight" movie, scheduled to open November 21st (which was when "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" was originally supposed to open), stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Billy Burke in this horror romance based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer. The official plot summary from Summit Entertainment reads:

Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school.  When her mother remarries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn’t expect much of anything to change.  Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she’s ever met.  Intelligent and witty, he sees straight into her soul.  Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance.  Edward can run faster than a mountain lion, he can stop a moving car with his bare hands – and he hasn’t aged since 1918.  Like all vampires, he’s immortal.   But he doesn’t have fangs, and he doesn’t drink human blood; Edward and his family are unique among vampires in their lifestyle choice.  To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for – a soul mate.  But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy.  But what will Edward & Bella do when James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), the Cullens’ mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her?

While speaking with MTV Movies Blog (http://moviesblog.mtv.com), Brett Ratner revealed that he is trying to convince video game publisher Activision to do a video game adaptation of "Guitar Hero."

"I love ‘Guitar Hero’ and I think it’s a part of pop culture. I would love to do a ‘Guitar Hero’ movie, if Activision would ever let me. I’m trying to convince them, but why would you have a movie screw up such a huge franchise? Not that I would make a bad movie. So that would be cool, to do a ‘Guitar Hero’ movie. ”

Ratner has also given some thought about the plot:

"It could be about a kid from a small town who dreams of being a rock star and he wins the ‘Guitar Hero’ competition. One of these dreams-[come-true] kind of concepts.”

You gotta love those British tabloids.

The UK's Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk) reported earlier this week that Cher - yes, Cher - is being considered for the role of Catwoman in Chris Nolan's followup to "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight." The same article states that Johnny Depp has been approached to play The Riddler as well.

The Hollywood Reporter, meanwhile, was quick to point out this morning that Nolan has not announced his plans for the next Batman nor has he even committed to it. So consider this one squashed.

While speaking with MTV Movies Blog (http://moviesblog.mtv.com), Vin Diesel reveals that two "Riddick" sequels are in the works but he's not sure how or when they will be shot.

"David Twowy right now is writing the scripts. The only question is whether we take a page from the 'Lord of the Rings' guys and try to shoot the two chapters at the same time. There are two more in mind."

Warner Bros. finally confirmed to The Wall Street Journal, after months of speculation, that the studio is taking the Superman franchise to a new direction. In addition, the studio revealed that "Justice League" and "Batman vs. Superman" have been put on indefinite hold, which isn't really much news. How this will affect Bryan Singer and star Brandon Routh, however, remains to be seen.

"Warner Bros. also put on hold plans for another movie starring multiple superheroes -- known as 'Batman vs. Superman' -- after the $215 million 'Superman Returns,' which had disappointing box-office returns, didn't please executives. ''Superman' didn't quite work as a film in the way that we wanted it to,' says Mr. Robinov. 'It didn't position the character the way he needed to be positioned.' 'Had 'Superman' worked in 2006, we would have had a movie for Christmas of this year or 2009,' he adds. 'But now the plan is just to reintroduce Superman without regard to a Batman and Superman movie at all.'

With 'Batman vs. Superman' and 'Justice League' stalled, Warner Bros. has quietly adopted Marvel's model of releasing a single film for each character, and then using those movies and their sequels to build up to a multicharacter film. "Along those lines, we have been developing every DC character that we own," Mr. Robinov says.

Like the recent Batman sequel -- which has become the highest-grossing film of the year thus far -- Mr. Robinov wants his next pack of superhero movies to be bathed in the same brooding tone as 'The Dark Knight.' Creatively, he sees exploring the evil side to characters as the key to unlocking some of Warner Bros.' DC properties. 'We're going to try to go dark to the extent that the characters allow it,' he says. That goes for the company's Superman franchise as well."
