John Cusack's "Martian Child"

Variety reports that John Cusack will star in "The Martian Child" for Nick Cassavetes ("The Notebook," "John Q"). The project is being setup at New Line Cinema.

David Gerrold wrote the short story about a sci-fi writer who adopts a 6-year-old boy after the death of his fiance. He is convinced his son is an alien when he begins exhibiting peculiar behavior. Jonathan Tolins and Seth Bass wrote the screenplay.
