Eddie Murphy starring, producing western comedy

Variety reports that Eddie Murphy is starring in and likely producing an untitled comedy for DreamWorks.

Josh Sternin and Jeffrey Ventimilia ("Surviving Christmas") have been brought in to pen the screenplay.

Murphy brought the idea to the studio. It is described as a Western comedy a la "Blazing Saddles." John Fox is overseeing the project at DreamWorks.
