George Clooney is "Michael Clayton"

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Section Eight, Samuels Media, Mirage Enterprises and Castle Rock Entertainment will produce the dramatic thriller "Michael Clayton," which will star Section Eight partner George Clooney and will be written and directed by Tony Gilroy (screenwriter on "The Bourne Idenitity," "Armageddon"). The project will mark his feature film directorial debut.

According to the trade, the film is about an in-house "fixer" at a major New York law firm. For 15 years he's worked behind the scenes to make clients' personal problems disappear. The story takes place over the four worst and last days in his career.
