Laurence Fishburne joins "Mission: Impossible 3"

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Laurence Fishburne ("The Matrix" trilogy) will join the cast of "Mission: Impossible 3," which will star Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Keri Russell, Michelle Monaghan, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

The trade revealed that Hoffman will play the villain in the JJ Abrams directed sequel, while Fishburne will play a mentor to Ethan Hunt, Cruise's character.

Production begins July 18th in Italy.
