Jennifer Connelly joining DiCaprio in "The Blood Diamond"

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Jennifer Connelly will join Leonardo DiCaprio in "The Blood Diamond." Ed Zwick will be directing the feature for Warner Bros. Pictures.

The trade reports that the film will center on "a poor African farmer who gets caught up in a conflict between an American diamond smuggler (DiCaprio) and the syndicate that controls the local diamond mining industry."

The story is by Charles Leavitt and C. Gaby Mitchell, with a screenplay by Leavitt and Zwick & Marshall Herskovitz.
