Variety reports that Michael Douglas will be joining "The King of California" which will be produced by Alexander Payne and Michael London ("Sideways").

Author Michael Cahill will be making his feature film directorial debut about a young girl who must deal with her manic depressive father and his belief that buried treasure is hidden somewhere in the San Fernando Valley.
