Variety reports that Paramount Pictures and MTV Films is looking to bring in Vin Diesel to star in "The Wheelman," which will be based on the forthcoming videogame by Midway Games. The game and the movie are slated to be released simultaneously.

The videogame is set to be a prequel to the film and tells of an expert driver who comes out of retirement to protect a woman from his past.

The game is being developed for the PS3 and XBox 360 and is targeted for a late 2007 release.
