The Hollywood Reporter reports that Hugh Jackman has replaced Russell Crowe in Baz Luhrmann's romantic action-adventure epic. 20th Century Fox will be distributing the project.

The movie is set in northern Australia before World War II and tells of an English aristocrat (Kidman) who inherits a ranch. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she joins forces with a cattle driver (Jackman) to drive 2,000 head of cattle across the country's most unforgiving landscape, only to face the bombing of Darwin, Australia, by Japanese forces.
