Jessica Alba seeing "The Eye"?

Variety reports that Lionsgate has picked up the rights to "The Eye" from Paramount and is looking to get Jessica Alba to star in the remake of the horror film. The studio is also in talks with French helmers David Moreau and Xavier Palud to direct the feature.

Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner picked up the rights to the film in 2002 and Renee Zellweger was to have starred but when she dropped out, the studio decided to pass on the project.

The original Hong Kong horror film was directed by the Pang brothers and told of a blind woman who receives an eye transplant and finds that she has inherited the ability to see the dead.
