Bloody-Disgusting (http://www.bloody-disgusting.com) is hearing rumblings that The Weinstein Company is working on resurrecting the "Scream" franchise with a "Scream 4" and has hired Kevin Williamson, creator of the franchise, to pen the script. Williamson penned the first two films but stepped away from the third due to scheduling conflicts with his television show.

The site also says that Wes Craven may be lured back to direct the new film.

Their report comes after reports that the Weinsteins are looking to breathe new life into the franchise. The fourth film would reportedly focus on a younger cast and offers are out to Neve Campbell, Dave Arquette and Courteney Cox for cameo roles.
