Javier Bardem is joining "Eat, Pray, Love" for Sony/Columbia Pictures. Variety reports that the film will be directed by Ryan Murphy and is based on the memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Julia Roberts and Richard Jenkins have already joined the project.

Roberts plays the author, Gilbert, and Bardem will play Felipe. Felipe is the man Gilbert meets and falls in love with on the final leg of a journey of self-discovery that began with the end of her marriage.
