Universal Pictures has tapped Bryan Singer to direct a big screen feature based on the "Battlestar Galactica" TV series. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the big budget film will serve as a standalone to the TV series, which recently ended its run on the SyFy Channel.
The studio picked up the rights from show creator Glen A. Larson. "Battlestar Galactica" told of the battle of humans versus Cylons.
No script is in place yet but it will most likely be a complete reimagining.
